Many thanks to J.P Quinn and the staff at U.C.C who hosted a wonderful Junior Conferring Tour for the 6th class pupils of Bishop Murphy Memorial School. The boys had a great day as they toured the campus and visited the impressive Crawford Observatory where they learned about Howard Grubb and the invention of the equatorial telescope. They even got to see the dome-roof retract. The pupils also learned about the U.C.C crest and some superstitions during exam periods. They visited the President’s garden and the tour concluded with a conferring ceremony whereby each pupil received their very own certificate of attendance while donning their U.C.C robes. Thanks again to J.P Quinn for facilitating a day to remember for the children.
