We have been very busy in 4th/5th class learning lots about the world of entrepreneurship through the excellent Junior Entrepreneur Programme. As part of the programme the children recently met a local businessman, Mr. Dave Ryan who spoke about his journey into the business world and the pupils were given the opportunity to ask some excellent questions. The children worked tirelessly in their own junior entrepreneur teams to come up with an idea for a product that would be of value, fun to make, profitable and achievable to produce in a short time-frame. Each team developed their own sales-pitch using their iPads to make very impressive presentations in front of a panel of judges in our very own version of “Dragons Den”. Many thanks to our principal Mr. O’ Donoghue, Mr. Dave Ryan and Mrs. Coughlan for participating as dragons on the day. The scores were very close but in the end there had to be one winning pitch so congratulations to the winning team whose idea will be further developed by the whole class for the next phase of our J.E.P programme. Here are some of the best photos taken from our “Dragons Den” …
