Bishop Murphy Memorial School had their annual Sports Day last Friday May 10th in St. Colman’s pitch and how lucky we were with the glorious weather. The boys had the opportunity to take part in many different sports throughout the day – Fun races, Tag Rugby, Soccer, Olympic Handball and Orienteering to name but a few. Many of the children got fantastic experiences of sports that they hadn’t previously played. Boys from all classes throughout the school were grouped together and an atmosphere of friendship and teamwork was palpable all day as a result.  The focus of the day was one of participation and the boys thoroughly enjoyed their day out of the classroom learning important skills of sport and teamwork. The weather was definitely on their side for the day and we’re all looking forward to next year already.
